Lightspeed OnSite 2015 2.3.3 for Licensed Users

Upgrade requires a Maintenance Plan valid on October 29, 2015 Upgrade Instructions:

  1. If you are running Lightspeed OnSite 3.7 or higher, the installer will backup Lightspeed OnSite for you when you run the upgrade. If you are running Lightspeed OnSite 3.5–3.6.8, perform a manual backup of Lightspeed OnSite at Tools > Utilities > Backup Database.

  2. Log out all users

  3. Open the installer and double-click the Lightspeed OnSite Server icon. Double-click the Install Lightspeed OnSite Server icon. Follow the on-screen steps in the installer window.

  4. When the installer has completed, launch the Lightspeed OnSite application and log in as you normally would.

Note for users upgrading from 3.7.6 or lower: Due to technology changes, Smart Finds and Trackers cannot be migrated during the upgrade process. Your Smart Finds and Trackers have been exported and you can re-create them by following this video.

Do not upgrade your installation to Lightspeed OnSite 2015 2.3.3 if any of the following criteria are not met, as proceeding may result in potential data loss or loss of uptime:

  • You must have a valid Maintenance Plan as of October 29th, 2015.

  • You must be currently running Lightspeed 3.5 or above.

  • You must be running OS X 10.8 or higher.

Lightspeed OnSite 2015 2.2.7 supports Lightspeed OnSite for iPad 1.3 (or later) and Lightspeed OnSite Mobile 1.7. Please upgrade your mobile devices after upgrading Lightspeed OnSite for Mac.

Remember to run a manual backup (Tools > Utilities > Backup Database) if you are currently running 3.6.8. or lower.

Users currently running Lightspeed OnSite 3.6.8 or lower who have purchased the On-Target Reports (OTR) add-on module are advised to contact their OTR developer prior to upgrading. Custom reports developed using OTR will need to be re-created in Lightspeed OnSite 3.9.8

Upgrade Instructions:

  1. Perform a manual backup of Lightspeed at Tools > Utilities > Backup Database. Log out all Users.
  2. Click Upgrade to Lightspeed 3.7.6 and download the installer .dmg to the hard drive of your Lightspeed server.
  3. Double-click the Install Lightspeed Server icon. Follow the on-screen steps in the installer window. Do not restart your Mac when the installer completes. Instead, navigate to System Preferences > Lightspeed Server and wait until the status of your Lightspeed Server says “Running” before attempting to log in.
  4. Lightspeed and log in as you normally would. On each computer logging into Lightspeed, log into Lightspeed as your normally would. The Auto Updater will automatically download the latest version of Lightspeed and replace your existing version, as well as update the shortcut if Lightspeed is in your dock.

  2. Click Upgrade to Lightspeed 3.5.6 and download the installer .dmg to the hard drive of your Lightspeed server.
  3. Double-click the Install Lightspeed Server icon. Follow the onscreen steps, and then restart.
  4. Launch Lightspeed and log in as you normally would.

  2. Click Upgrade to Lightspeed 3.4.5 and download the installer .dmg to the hard drive of your Lightspeed server.
  3. Open the installer and drag the Lightspeed application to your Applications folder.
  4. Double-click the Install Lightspeed Server icon. Follow the onscreen steps, and then restart.
  5. Launch Lightspeed and log in as you normally would.

OnSite 3.4.5

  2. Click Upgrade to Lightspeed 3.4.5 and download the installer .dmg to the hard drive of your Lightspeed server.
  3. Open the installer and drag the Lightspeed application to your Applications folder.
  4. Double-click the Install Lightspeed Server icon. Follow the onscreen steps, and then restart.
  5. Launch Lightspeed and log in as you normally would.

On each computer logging into Lightspeed, log into Lightspeed as your normally would. The Auto Updater will automatically download the latest version of Lightspeed and replace your existing version, as well as update the shortcut if Lightspeed is in your dock.

OnSite 2.9.2

Upgrading to Lightspeed 2.8 or higher requires a Maintenance Plan valid on February 1st, 2009. Lightspeed 2.9.2 requires you to run the Lightspeed 2.9 Server Update on your server prior to upgrading if upgrading from Lightspeed 2.8 and below. See below for upgrade instructions.

2.9 Server Update

The Lightspeed 2.9 Server Update will install OpenBase 11.0.3 and all of the Lightspeed server extensions for iPhone Stats, credit card processing, and more.

For customers using other applications on their Lightspeed server computer that require OpenBase, please contact those software vendors regarding compatibility with OpenBase 11 prior to installing this update.

Please note that older versions of Daylite (3.7.5.x or 3.8.1) will not operate if this upgrade is installed, as they are not compatible with OpenBase 11. Daylite 3.9 includes compatibility for OpenBase 11.

Installation Instructions:

  1. Perform a backup of your Lightspeed database under Tools -> Utilities -> Backup Database.
  2. Ensure that all users are logged out of Lightspeed and that the Lightspeed server can access the Internet.
  3. Download and install the Lightspeed 2.9 Server Update on the Lightspeed server computer.
  4. Download Lightspeed 2.9 onto the Lightspeed server from the ‘Lightspeed 2.9 for Licensed Users’ section above, and log in to update your database.
  5. Download Lightspeed 2.9 from the same section above on all workstation computers and remove any previous versions of Lightspeed.
