Lightspeed is seeking a highly motivated Sales Development Representative to join our expanding sales team. In this role, you’ll drive revenue growth by generating and qualifying leads, serving as the first point of contact between potential customers and the Lightspeed brand. Your efforts will directly support Lightspeed’s mission to empower retailers and restaurateurs with smart technology.

After years of refining and optimising our strategy in a focused market, our Inbound team is now in hyper-growth mode and ready to scale. Please note this role is based in Spain with a must requirement of speaking Dutch fluently

 

What you will be doing:

  • Build in-depth knowledge of the hospitality industry, including trends, challenges, and competitor activity

  • Drive new business growth through qualifying warm inbound leads from marketing-generated sources (webinars, trials, quote/demo requests) primarily through telephone and email communication;

  • Conduct initial discovery calls to uncover business needs, pain points, and fit for Lightspeed’s solutions.

  • Qualify leads using frameworks like BANT (Budget, Authority, Need, Timeline) to ensure high-quality sales opportunities.

  • Book meetings and product demos for Account Executives, ensuring a smooth and professional handover process.

  • Maintain accurate records in Salesforce CRM, tracking prospect interactions, pipeline activity, and lead status.

  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams, sharing market feedback and contributing to strategy while meeting or exceeding monthly and quarterly targets for qualified opportunities.

And a little bit of....

  • Contribute to and execute sales and marketing initiatives aimed at enhancing the customer experience and increasing Lightspeed's Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR).

  • Contributing as part of the wider team to achieve organisational objectives even if this means doing things that aren’t strictly within the scope of your role.

 

What you need to bring:

  • Fluency in Dutch

  • Experience in a sales or call centre environment, with a track record of meeting or exceeding performance targets.

  • Solid grasp of sales development best practices, including lead qualification, pipeline management, and outbound prospecting.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to listen actively, engage persuasively, and communicate value clearly.

  • Proactive problem-solver, able to anticipate challenges and deliver creative, customer-focused solutions.

  • Highly collaborative, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and advocate effectively for client needs.

  • Adaptable and resilient, thriving in fast-paced, target-driven environments while managing time and priorities effectively.

  • Proficient in using CRM tools like Salesforce to organise pipelines, track activity, and maintain accurate records.
