Hi there! Thanks for stopping by đź‘‹
Are you actively looking for a new opportunity? Or just checking the market? Well… you might just be in the right place!
We’re looking for a Senior Director, Enterprise Data & Governance to join our Data team in Canada.
You will partner directly with the Business and serve as the chief architect of our corporate data strategy, bridging the gap between deep technical infrastructure and executive business vision. You will lead your global team to drive seamless data flows, optimize day-to-day data operations, and transform our data ecosystem into a highly governed, scalable, and AI-ready asset.
You will be a key player in our Data Office, applying your data expertise and elevating data standards across the organization. If you are a seasoned data executive who thrives on mastering complex SaaS data lifecycles (from ERP, CRM and billing engines to predictive AI consumption layers) this is the opportunity you've been waiting for to maximize the use of data to fuel business growth and make a tangible impact!
Please note that this role is a hybrid role located in Montreal, Canada.
What you'll be doing:
Leadership, Team & Stakeholder Management
People Management & Culture: A proven track record in people management, with a dedicated focus on driving career growth, mentorship, and hands-on support. You know how to cultivate a high-performing culture rooted in teamwork, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Global Pod Leadership & Accountability: Experience leading a global team of Data Analysts inside agile data Pods, owning the overall performance and results delivered. You will ensure your team works hand-in-hand with diverse business partners to build data models, manage pipelines, and analyze performance—enabling critical insights and operational efficiencies across Enterprise data domains (including Sales, Marketing, Revenue Operations, Finance, and Operations).
Strategic Partnership: Partner closely with C-suite and VP-level Business stakeholders to develop and execute a comprehensive Enterprise Data strategy aligned with business and technology objectives.
Roadmap Ownership: Oversee the development of data roadmaps for your Pods, ensuring deep compatibility with Enterprise Financial ERPs, planning tools, and subscription billing engines, while shaping the broader Data Office roadmap to industrialize data.
Enterprise Data Architecture & Master Data Management (MDM)
Architecture Strategy: Maintain a deep understanding of our products, systems, and underlying data architecture to ensure clean logical isolation and robust data lineage.
MDM Design: Design, champion, and execute a comprehensive Master Data Management (MDM) strategy to establish a trusted "Single Source of Truth" across core operational systems, Lightspeed Products and core financial infrastructure.
Exploratory Modelling: Leverage deep system knowledge to develop exploratory data models across diverse data sources, supporting the Business with insightful datasets, enterprise reporting, and smart surfacing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the Data Solutions team to co-develop pod-specific data models, transitioning agile, domain-focused insights into scalable, production-grade assets that align with enterprise architecture and governance.
Data Governance, Compliance & Quality Management
Framework Establishment: Collaborate with Business stakeholders to establish, promote, and implement strict data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
Data Integrity Enforcement: Monitor data quality and ensure data integrity across Lightspeed by fostering accountability, investigating discrepancies at the source, documenting findings, and driving continuous improvement.
Regulatory Compliance: Mitigate corporate risk by ensuring global compliance across diverse data footprints against data privacy regulations.
Advanced Analytics & AI-Driven Consumption
Analytics Standards: Lead the development and adoption of the highest analytics standards and methodologies among the Data Office and across the organization.
Advanced Data Mining: Lead analysis and mining of large data sets to derive actionable insights using prescriptive, descriptive, predictive, exploratory, and inferential analysis.
Next-Gen Consumption: Support your team in creating measurement plans that move the organization beyond static dashboards into dynamic, semantic, and AI-driven data surfacing models (GenAI tools, predictive modeling, and automated alerting).
Cross-Functional Synergy: Collaborate with analytic engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand complex requirements and help create user-friendly solutions.
What you need to bring:
Extensive Experience: 15+ years of dedicated experience in data operations, master data management (MDM), or data architecture roles, with at least 7+ years in a senior executive or directory-level leadership position.
Technical Mastery: Strong technical skills, including Strong technical literacy and familiarity with cloud data stacks, specifically Google Cloud Platform (GCP) BigQuery and Looker, alongside core SQL and GitHub capabilities. Experience with transformation and modeling tools like Dataform is a strong plus.
Systems Fluency: Hands-on experience navigating the data footprints of Enterprise ERPs and Planning tools (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, Pigment), complex Order Management Systems (OMS), CRM platforms (Salesforce/HubSpot), and Billing & Subscription Management infrastructure.
SaaS Acumen: Strong business acumen and an understanding of the SaaS business model, multi-tenant architectures, and key SaaS performance metrics (MRR, LTV, CAC, NRR), with a passion for bridging the gap between technical insights and business strategy.
Linguistic Fluency: Exceptional communication skills in English (written and spoken) to articulate complex insights with clarity and impact, alongside strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional global teams. Professional fluency in French is strongly appreciated but not mandatory.
Execution & Mindset: Excellent organizational and project management skills, a self-starter mentality, and the proven ability to drive multiple priorities autonomously in a fast-paced setting.
